Mohan Naik came from the village folks in South Goa. Staying true to his roots, he embraces his origin by depicting the life in Goa in his artworks. The bright and warm colours of the Goa atmosphere are strongly presented, along with the rural imagery of men, goat, and the landscape itself. Mohan Naik gave up teaching to fully concentrate on his career as a full-time artist. The result of his long-running efforts in presenting the Goa heritage is the critically acclaimed “Mohan Naik” style that is unique, distinctive, yet at the same time, heart-warming. It is no wonder that Mohan Naik has had numerous exhibitions and has been regarded as Goa’s leading artist.
