Bio

Kiran Sherkhane is an artist based in Hubli, North Karnataka. Influenced by the culture in which he grew up, his paintings adopt and express the North Karnataka culture as well. His perception as an artist is conveyed deeply in his art whereby his perceptions and identity intersect. The use of soft and sober colour palette in his paintings expresses his optimism and energy which offers the viewers positivity and motivation amid any physical and emotional challenges that one may encounter.

The woman and the cow are the recurring figures in Kiran’s works, depicting his thought process of the causal relationship between human and other forms of life. The woman, in particular, is an affirmative model that encompasses positive social identities for people facing challenges in their lives, a metaphor of the progression of his identity as an artist over time. Notwithstanding all the constraints and challenges, Kiran follows his passion and as such, his optimistic view can be deeply felt in his artworks.
